This Cobalt Powersafe Pro 100Wh powerbank is the ideal addition to your dashcam in the car. With this Cobalt powerbank, you can use your dashcam's parking mode without draining your car's battery. The Cobalt charges while driving and regulates the power supply to the dashcam when the car is parked. As soon as you turn off the car's ignition, the Cobalt signals the dashcam to activate parking mode and then regulates the entire power supply.
Please note: To connect your dashcam to the Cobalt, you need the 3-wire hardwire kit from your dashcam, which can often be ordered as an optional extra with the camera. You connect this to the 3-wire output cable of the Cobalt.
Installation
Installing the Cobalt Powersafe Pro is very easy. The most important thing is that the Cobalt only charges when you are driving. You therefore connect the Cobalt to a switched power point at the fuse box or with the supplied cigarette lighter car charger (if this only supplies power in your car when the ignition is switched on).
As soon as the car is turned off and the power to the Cobalt is cut off, the Cobalt sends a signal to the dashcam via the hardwire kit to switch to parking mode. The Cobalt also regulates the entire power supply so that the car's battery is no longer charged.
The Cobalt comes with all the accessories needed to install the battery pack. Four types of fuse holders are supplied for connecting the hardwire cable to the fuse box, and the 3-wire cables are easily connected using the clips provided.
Up to 30 hours of power*
The Cobalt Powersafe Pro charges within 50 minutes while driving (with the hardwire power supply) and then provides up to 30 hours of power to the dashcam. Because the Cobalt only charges while driving, your car's battery is not drained.
* The operating time can vary greatly depending on the dashcam model. Dashcams with multiple active functions (Cloud, GPS, etc.), higher resolution or multiple cameras consume more power and the operating time may be reduced.
