Forgotten your dashcam’s Wifi password? Here’s how to fix it.

Unfortunately, resetting your password isn’t usually as simple as pressing a single button on most dashcams. Often, the only way is to reinstall the firmware. To do this, download the latest update file from the manufacturer’s website and save it to your SD card. As soon as you insert the card into the camera and switch it on, the software will be overwritten and all settings (including the password) will be reset to factory defaults.

Do you have an AZDome dashcam without a screen? With these models, you can often hold down the Wifi button for 10 seconds to reset everything. Always check whether there is a small hole in the casing for a physical reset; using a paperclip, the camera will often revert to the default password (usually simply 12345678).
