Telecamera as rear camera

, by Allcam dashcams, 1 min reading time

Some dashcams, such as the Viofo A329T or Nextbase, are equipped with or offer the option of a telephoto rear camera. This telephoto camera replaces the standard rear camera that is normally placed on the rear windscreen. The telephoto camera is placed on the windscreen instead of the rear windscreen and faces backwards.

It has a small angle of view, allowing it to film backwards through the rear window. The advantage of such a telephoto camera is that it is much easier to install. After all, you don't have to pull a cable backwards. Of course, the view behind the car is somewhat less than with a normal rear camera with a wide angle of view on the rear window.
