The Garmin Dash Cam Live is Garmin's latest LTE dashcam with a permanent live connection. This dashcam allows you to connect to your camera live from anywhere in the world and receive notifications in the event of an incident. Simply sign up for a Garmin LTE subscription via the app to access cloud storage.
Garmin Cloud
This Garmin Dash Cam Live has a built-in LTE connection that you can easily activate via the Garmin App. No external wifi connection is required for the cloud connection with this dashcam.
The live connection to your Garmin dashcam offers useful features for extra security for your car. You can view live images, but also receive notifications of parking incidents. Location tracking is also available in case of theft.
2K resolution
The Garmin Dash Cam Live films in sharp 2K (1440p) resolution. HDR and Garmin Clarity technology also ensure very sharp images at night, so you don't have to miss a thing.
3.0-inch LCD
The 3.0-inch LCD allows you to easily change settings and view videos. The screen has a screensaver function that turns it off after a few minutes of driving, so you are not distracted while driving.
Wireless 5.0 GHz Wifi
You can easily view the recorded videos on your smartphone within range of the dashcam (+/- 5 metres) via the Garmin App for iOS or Android. The videos can be viewed live and you can download saved videos to your phone so you can share them immediately. Thanks to the 5.0 GHz Wifi, file transfer is faster than with many other dashcams. The menu is also easy to operate via the app, allowing you to change settings very quickly.
GPS
The Garmin Dash Cam Live is equipped with GPS so that the current speed and coordinates are tracked. If desired, the speed can be displayed at the bottom of each video, and the filming location and route can be viewed later via the app.
Time-lapse recordings
By activating time-lapse recordings, you can record longer journeys without using up a lot of memory. In time-lapse mode, the camera takes a photo every second, which is later processed into an accelerated 30fps video. This can be useful for recording your entire holiday journey in one video.
ADAS
This Garmin Dash Cam Live supports you with warnings in dangerous situations. If desired, a warning is given in the following situations:
FCWS: Forward Collision Warning System. This system warns you when you are approaching a vehicle in front at high speed. For example, the system alerts you when there is a traffic jam in front of the car. With a good GPS signal, the current speed is known and the camera can make a good assessment of the situation around the car.
LDWS: Lane Departure Warning System. The camera can give a signal when the car is in danger of changing lanes on the motorway.
PCW: Pedestrian collision warning. Gives a warning when a pedestrian is too close to the car.
FCD: Front car departure warning. Gives a warning if the vehicle in front has moved off but you are still stationary, for example at a traffic light.
Voice control
The Garmin Dash Cam Live allows you to control the dashcam using voice commands (in English). Commands such as “Make picture”, “Turn off screen”, “Turn on audio” and “Lock the video” allow you to use the dashcam safely while driving and ensure you don't miss a single incident.
Speed camera alerts
Garmin supports speed camera alerts in some regions. The data is automatically updated via the app so that you are always notified at the right locations.
Automatic parking mode
Garmin offers the option to secure your car while parking. Connect the dashcam to the OBD or 3-wire hardwire kit to provide power to the dashcam even when the car is turned off. After a few minutes of parking, the Garmin automatically switches to parking mode.
140˚ viewing angle
With a modest viewing angle of 140 degrees, a large area around the car is recorded without distorting the image too much.
Optional suction cup mount
The dashcam comes standard with a sturdy self-adhesive mount. A suction cup mount is available as an option so that the dashcam can be used in multiple vehicles.
Optional CPL filter
Attach the optional CPL (Polaroid) filter to your Garmin dashcam to reduce annoying reflections from the dashboard or interior. The filter can be attached to the dashcam in no time and is easy to adjust by turning it.
G-sensor
The Garmin Dash Cam Live has a built-in G-sensor. This sensor registers vibrations in the event of a collision. In that case, the current video is stored securely.
Loop recording
The dashcam is equipped with loop recording, which automatically overwrites the oldest images with new ones. The videos are stored in shorter 5-minute segments, and once the SD card is full, the oldest segment is deleted.
Secure recordings (manually selected or detected by the G-sensor) are stored in a separate folder and are not deleted by the loop recording. This way, you always have access to the latest and most important videos.
512GB support
The Garmin Dash Cam Live supports Micro SD cards up to 512GB, good for about 60 hours of recording. A 16GB Micro SD card is included as standard, allowing you to store about 2 hours of videos.
