The Garmin Mini 3 is one of the smallest dashcams on the market. This super compact camera fits behind any rear-view mirror and is therefore barely noticeable in the car. You can connect to the camera anywhere in the world via the Cloud, and the built-in polarisation filter ensures optimal image quality in every situation.
Compact design
The most striking feature of this Garmin Dash Cam Mini 3 is its size. This dashcam is about the size of an average house key and is therefore hardly noticeable in the car. You can easily place it behind your rear-view mirror and forget about it.
Garmin Cloud
The live connection to your Garmin dashcam offers useful features for extra security for your car. You can view live images, but also receive notifications of parking incidents. Location tracking is also available in case of theft. The Cloud option requires a wifi connection to the internet in the car.
Full HD videos
The Garmin Dash Cam Mini 3 films in high-quality Full HD (1080p) videos. The images are of good quality both during the day and at night, so that people and cars are clearly visible.
Wireless 5.0 GHz Wifi
You can easily view the recorded videos on your smartphone within range of the dashcam (+/- 5 metres) via the Garmin App for iOS or Android. The videos can be viewed live and you can download stored videos to your phone so you can share them immediately. Thanks to the 5.0 GHz Wifi, file transfer is faster than with many other dashcams. The menu is also easy to operate via the app, allowing you to change settings very quickly.
Time-lapse recordings
By activating time-lapse recordings, you can record longer journeys without using up a lot of memory. In time-lapse mode, the camera takes a photo every second, which is later processed into an accelerated 30fps video. This can be useful for recording your entire holiday journey in one video.
ADAS
This Garmin Dash Cam Mini 3 supports you with warnings in dangerous situations. If desired, a warning is given in the following situations:
FCWS: Forward Collision Warning System. This system warns you when you are approaching a vehicle in front at high speed. For example, the system alerts you when there is a traffic jam in front of the car. With a good GPS signal, the current speed is known and the camera can make a good assessment of the situation around the car.
LDWS: Lane Departure Warning System. The camera can give a signal when the car is in danger of changing lanes on the motorway.
PCW: Pedestrian collision warning. Gives a warning when a pedestrian is too close to the car.
FCD: Front car departure warning. Issues a warning if the car in front has moved off but you are still stationary, for example at a traffic lights.
Voice control
The Garmin Dash Cam Mini 3 allows you to control the dashcam via voice commands (in English). Commands such as “Make picture”, “Turn off screen”, “Turn on audio” and “Lock the video” allow you to use the dashcam safely while driving and ensure you don't miss a single incident.
Speed camera alerts
Garmin supports speed camera alerts in some regions. The data is automatically updated via the app so that you are always notified at the right locations.
Automatic parking mode
Garmin offers the option to secure your car while parking. Connect the dashcam to the OBD or 3-wire hardwire kit to provide power to the dashcam even when the car is turned off. After a few minutes of parking, the Garmin automatically switches to parking mode.
140˚ viewing angle
With a modest viewing angle of 140 degrees, a large area around the car is recorded without distorting the image too much.
Optional suction cup mount
The dashcam comes standard with a sturdy self-adhesive mount. A suction cup mount is available as an option so that the dashcam can be used in multiple vehicles.
Built-in CPL filter
This Mini 3 dashcam is equipped with a built-in Garmin Clarity polarisation lens. This filter in the lens prevents annoying and harmful reflections in the videos, ensuring optimal image quality in all conditions.
G-sensor
The Garmin Dash Cam Mini 3 has a built-in G-sensor. This sensor registers vibrations in the event of a collision. In that case, the current video is stored securely.
Loop recording
The dashcam is equipped with loop recording, which automatically overwrites the oldest images with new ones. The videos are stored in shorter 5-minute segments, and once the SD card is full, the oldest segment is deleted.
Secure recordings (manually selected or detected by the G-sensor) are stored in a separate folder and are not deleted by the loop recording. This way, you always have access to the latest and most important videos.
512GB support
The Garmin Dash Cam Mini 3 supports Micro SD cards up to 512GB, good for about 60 hours of recording. A Micro SD card is not included as standard.
